If you’d like to get more involved in BSRLM, the British Society for Research into Learning Mathematics, now’s your chance! We’re looking for three people to take over from our outgoing Membership Coordinator, Day Conference Organiser and Secretary. Having served as Secretary for the last three years, I can happily report that the BSRLM executive is a rare combination of friendliness and efficiency. We’d welcome applications from experienced academics and early careers researchers and ones that reflect the diversity of our community.
To apply, complete this online form before the deadline of 5pm on 28th October. As Day Conference Organiser is a particularly intense role, we’re hoping to appoint two people and would welcome applications to job share.
The Membership Coordinator has a role in growing membership and managing the membership database. The Day Conference Organiser works with local hosts to coordinate our thrice-yearly conferences including an annual New Researchers Day. The Secretary organises agendas and minutes for the executive meetings and AGM and carries out other administrative tasks. Detailed role descriptions for each of these positions are available on request by replying to this mail. The current role holders are also willing to answer any questions about what’s involved. For questions about being Membership Coordinator, email Rachel at email@example.com. For Day Conference Organiser, email Vince at firstname.lastname@example.org. For Secretary, reply to this email.
All executive members are expected, other commitments permitting, to attend three meetings a year and to take part in BSRLM’s Day Conferences. All expenses for these are covered by the Society.
